Interview

Lucy sharp, Model

We spoke to model Lucy Sharp about her work and March’s featured photo shoot.

Interview date: 10th March 2024, images by Sam Turrell.

TYG: Hi Lucy. How long have you been a model for and how did you get into it?

Lucy: Hiii! I have been modelling since September 2023 and I was looking for jobs and came across a TikTok from my agency saying they were scouting! I would encourage anyone who is thinking of applying to do it as so far it’s been a really positive experience and I’ve learnt a lot and met lots of amazing people.

TYG: Where/who do you get inspiration from?

Lucy: I try not to compare myself to other people but in terms of modelling I've been obsessed with Alex Consani i think she’s so funny and she has such a good walk!

TYG: What are your favourite kind of photoshoots?

Lucy: I just recently did a creative campaign for footasylam and that was so much fun. We went to different locations around Manchester and was so different compared to ecom modelling I loved it. I had a story and i had to act a little bit which was very new for me but so exciting

TYG: Tell us a bit about the featured shoot. Where was the shoot?

Lucy: The shoot was filmed around Manchester by Sam turrel. He also styled the shoot! I saw his work on Instagram and loved his work so I asked for a shoot for my portfolio.

TYG: Do you have a favourite look from the shoot?

Lucy: My favourite outfit was the red dress as it’s very striking. I love the way it fit aswell and flattered my body.

TYG: What do you think makes a good model?

Lucy: Confidence I think is the most important as well as being okay with rejection and taking direction! Organisation and being happy to travel alone and work long hours too :) but the rewards out weigh the challenges by far.

TYG: What ideas/concepts would you like to shoot in the near future?

Lucy: Definitely more creative campaigns as I loved the process so much and seeing the end result in stores and online.
