How did you get into fashion photography?
Fashion has been always my passion (same as photography). In the past, for almost 10 years I used to work as a VISUAL MERCHANDISER and I think it helped me see things differently and be more creative. It’s been my dream to combine those both things I love the most.
How would you define your style?
My photography is full of light, emotions, movement…it’s warm, timeless and cinematic. I like to call myself a storyteller. I believe I create images with depth and feeling, like a movie scene.
Do you have a favourite shoot to date you can tell us about?
Oh, It’s a tough one because every shoot gives me a lot good feelings!
But the shoot I’m most proud of is the one you’ve decided to feature in this month’s issue. I just love every picture!
What was the idea behind the shoot featured in this month's issue and what was the team like to work with?
I called that photoshoot - LOST IN THE WORLD.
This project was the creation of images I envisioned a very long time ago. I had this vision stucked in my head for many months! But I couldn’t find a right model until Eunice - the model, reached me out. I’m so grateful.
It's a visual story about feeling of being NEW in a city, following your dream of becoming someone, of wanting to belong somewhere..but in the end you feel so LOST IN THIS WORLD. Living your life where no one else is there. Living on the edge, looking for acceptance, escaping from monotony - these are the things we're facing these days I think.
And I had the best team I could have asked for! Eunice, oh.. she is amazing! Absolutely stunning! She totally understood my vision. The best model I’ve worked with so far.
Julia, talented make-up artist & hairstylist, such a beautiful soul and my best friend - we understand each other without words. It’s always fun working together!
And of course it wouldn’t be possible without our stylist - Vlada. I love her style and I knew she needs to be part of this project.
What's your go to equipment?
I shoot with Sony A7iii and my go-to lens is Sigma Art 50mm 1.4. My personal favourite combo.
What's your favourite kind of lighting setup? Artificial or natural light?
I’m a natural lighting shooter! And for me there’s no such thing as bad light. It’s not always possible to shoot under ideal conditions so we should be prepared for everything.
Who are some of your favourite other photographers (past or present)?
My all time favourite is Greg Williams & Peter Lindbergh.
Recently I’m obsessed with Anthony Pham.
And as a lifestyle photographer too I follow a lot of international and local photographers. My favourites are Maley, India Earl or Beth McQueen.
Do you enjoy being based in London and does this open up a lot of opportunities for meeting creatives and setting up photoshoots?
Absolutely! London is amazing when it comes to opportunities & connections. I’ve met a lot of amazing people related to photography during my ‘journey’. Most of them reached me out on instagram but the beautiful thing is, we can transform it into real friendship. And support you can receive - it’s priceless.
