Can you tell us a bit about how the brand began?

I had the ambition and love for fashion since I was 14 so I worked towards the aim of one day having a brand. In September 2018 I resigned from my job at Ralph & Russo to begin my venture of creating So.NAEY.

Where does your inspiration for the brand come from?

I am deeply inspired by the effortless elegance of Parisian fashion and architecture. I frequently travel and go to art exhibitions where I get influenced by the culture. The little details bring out the beauty in the while picture. Silhouette is important to me, as my brand is for feminine fashion-conscious women so I like to choose fabrics and pieces that flatter a woman’s figure.

This year has been tricky for everyone, how has So.NAEY been coping?

This year has been a challenge, I launched my business in November 2019 specialising in affordable occasion-wear but due to the current economic situation I’ve had to adapt my collection. Initially many manufacturers were closed and orders kept getting delayed however I’ve overcome this and expanded my range as I now provide garments where you can stay glam at home in my loungewear, jumpers, blouses and jackets.

What have been the biggest hurdles you've had to face?

As I’m a one woman band at the moment, I handle every aspect of the business including marketing, managing production, designing, buying, accounts and general business admin. This has been a massive challenge to juggle and learn all parts of the business but none-the-less enjoyable.

Are there any favourites from the collection?

I love all of my pieces it would be hard to choose one favourite, but personally I do really like the two pieces crop top and floaty trouser set from my first collection and the wrap around cardigans with pearls as well as the tweed blazer, I feel like all of them are really easy to wear and look very chic.

Do you have any future goals for the brand?

The aim is to carry on growing and be the best affordable yet classy womenswear brand globally.
